Wow...gorgeous textiles you may not have seen

So, through the wonder that is Pinterest, I came across a new to me blog and etsy store..Melongings

Feast your eyes on blogger Chanee's fantastic autumn textile collection.

Wow. Me thinks these will appear somewhere in my home in the next couple of months.

Check out her etsy store right here.

Pardon our dust, we are at it again (Mudroom Lockers, Mudroom Inspiration)

We tore out the back exit of our house...When people say "gut" on tv, I've noticed they generally mean they removed cabinetry from their kitchen or something like that. At Casa Lobo, when we say gut, we mean it. We literally take the walls down to the studs, reframe walls, re-insulate, remove the floors down to the joists, redo electric and all that jazz. I'm not trying to brag. I'd prefer not to have to do that actually, but hey, this old house needed more than a little botox. Contrary to what HGTV says, paint was not gonna change much here (lest you forgot). Like I said, we were crazy when we bought this house, I think.

So over our Saturday morning coffee, it was your typical conversation...Him: I think I am going to gut the back exit...create a mudroom of sorts. Me: Oh, sounds nice.

.............more dust...what can I say? We are masochists...We like the pain of renovation. :)

So this morning, a little mudroom inspiration...

Obsessed with this side table...get the look!

I was browsing on Houzz and came across this image. I love the stool side table. I remembered seeing it somewhere else once before. After some intense googling the internets shined their light upon me....It looks very similar to the Frank Gehry Wiggle Stool. There may be a cheaper version out there, I just haven't found it yet.

So let's do this...

Frank Gehry Wiggle Stool at Hive, $525

Ikea Tullsta chair, 99 bones...can't beat that!

12x18 John Robshaw Lapis Decorative Pillow, $90

You're welcome.

UPDATE! Megan Blake responded with the source for the table, and of course, Wisteria pulls through once again offering that table at $199. So much more wallet friendly and pretty beautiful!

Rustic Kid Room update

I am still working on my oldest's room, but I wanted to give you a preview of where we are. I may or may not have shared that while we don't have a "theme," I am leaning toward a rustic, cabin type feel, albeit a little preppy, too.

When he was born, we bought a bedroom furniture set that is good quality, and while I don't love that it's matchy, I am not willing to part with it. It's good quality and fulfills our needs in the storage dept pretty well. So here's to working with what you've got.

I will be back to talk about it some more later!

Stay tuned!

Taking a Mental Health Day...

Yeah....yesterday evening, I took Alfie, my oldest, to the doctor. I got home, and "husband" was sick, so he didn't realize Lucas was running around with a poopie diaper.

Well, this morning I found a huge poop stain on the playroom couch. Ouch....Thank God for slipcovers....I guess that happened last night before I got home.

So anyway, today my day started with cleaning poop off the couch. I then ran up to get the older one dressed for school, and when I got back down stairs, the baby, Lucas, aka Poop Baby, had found an ink pad, and he was licking it. He had pressed the ink pad all over his face and arms. He looked like a blueberry.

All this before I even poured myself a cup of coffee.

I am laughing about it now though.

Having kids is the hardest yet most fun thing I've ever done. They seriously bring a whole other level of happiness to your life, but yeah, they also drive you craaaaazzzzzyyyy ;)

Design Harvest Chicago Recap!

Last weekend a friend and I went to Design Harvest in the Grand Avenue Design District. It was nothing short of amazing. I took so many shots that now I am getting confused which are from which store, so I will try my very best to tell you what pics are from where, but can't make any promises as to accuracy!

Unfortunately, there were some areas of the tent and some stores I didn't get to photograph. Among them were Revision Home and Buckingham ID.

I am not sure if I have posted about Revision Home before, but if I haven't, get thee to their website. Their inventory is nothing short of shockingly smashing and Crate & Barrel affordable, which for the unique pieces they offer is pretty extraordinary.

Buckingham ID is Julia Edelman's store, which is of course fantastic. During Design Harvest, Jan Parr, Editor of Chicago Home + Gardens Magazine, was at Buckingham ID signing copies of her new book "Chicago Spaces Inspiring Interiors," which includes designs by Julia Edelman.

By the way, in case you didn't know, Julia is also a contributing writer on the blog Material Girls, one of my long time faves.

So here we go...In no particular order....
